Doctors Without Borders Highlights Further Casualties

Dr. Susan Turner is a New York-based psychiatrist with over 16 years of experience in the field, with much of this work incorporating supportive therapy and other techniques, depending on the needs of the patient. Alongside her professional career, Dr. Susan Turner has been an active supporter of several organizations, including Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), which is better known as Doctors Without Borders.

For the past several years, MSF has worked in Yemen, with the organization recently noting that heavy fighting in the Aden region has resulted in 51 wounded people coming to MSF’s local trauma hospital. In addition to these were people who the non-profit claimed were pronounced dead on arrival.

The organization has highlighted that the fighting is taking place between President Hadi loyalists and the Southern Transitional Council, a group of separatists who are backed by the United Arab Emirates.

The war in Yemen broke out in 2015, and MSF has noted that its facilities in the area have been bombed six times, with five of these being airstrikes in the city by the Saudi-led coalition.
